Grapevine Mediterranean Gourmet Cafe, LaGrange, IL

I didn't take a photo of this bread pudding. It was so unassuming, just a corner piece in a plastic container. The staff offered to sprinkle it with powdered sugar but I declined. It wasn't pretty or interesting, just was. I waited a day to eat it. But when I did, I was so wonderfully surprised. I heated it and it was a little too loose but the top crusted and the eggy custard was nice. It had just enough cinnamon to make a difference and was truly a no-muss dessert.

Welcome Bread Pudding Lovers!

I rarely make BP, but I seek it. If I made it, I'd eat it all so this is the best way I can indulge, one portion at a time.

The rating system goes from one BP fork or thingy (yuck) to four BP (divine) forks or thingies (thingies were predecessors to the forks system).

Note: I do NOT like raisins in my BP, particularly those sneaky yellow raisins, so I'll make it clear if raisins, nuts or other accessories are in the BP.

Another preference is that I feel BP should stand alone. If it needs sauce, ice cream, whipped cream, etc., then it gets a lower rating. If those extras are just extras and the BP is good all by itself, I'll indicate that.
